Update

Update: There is now a video up on Dave Naylor's blog about the Twitter exploit, which I have embedded below. Meanwhile, Twitter has yet to respond to the issue via either the Official Twitter Blog or the Twitter Status Blog. They were kind enough to post a Ryan Seacrest video however.

Wolfram Alpha has made its first major update, just three weeks after the much-hyped search/answer engine was launched. So what does this update include?

 So Twitter caused a bit of controversy this week as they changed their @replies feature in a way that actually effected just 3% of their users 

Google Update, which is now being referred to as Omaha, is a program that installs requested software and keeps it up to date. It comes with Google products like Google Chrome and Google Earth for Windows.

Let's face it: public transportation isn't a sexy topic, and it's not really one of the fields in which Google specializes.  But the subject does seem rather recession-appropriate, and the search giant has made a nice gesture by updating its Google Transit feature on Google Maps.

Earlier this week, Al Gore, Jimmy Buffet, and a famous oceanographer came together to announce a Google Earth update.  Don't look for the same level of hubbub here, but Microsoft's now taking its own impressive step in this area by releasing about 100 terabytes' worth of Virtual Earth imagery.

Once you start "living" in more than one social media space, the idea of updating your status across multiple Web sites gets tedious fast.
