Attending Cornell University as an undergrad will cost you around $17,000 per semester.  But if you just want to look through the school’s libraries, it’s free - some of their content will become available to everyone, thanks to an arrangement with Google’s Library Project.

So as state-funded university tuition rises faster than the inflation rate, grants are becoming nonexistent, and students are actually looking abroad to complete their education cheaper and in half the time, Congressmen cozy with the RIAA are threatening to cut their funding more if they don't play ball with the recording labels.

Aw, isn’t that nice: the Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC) is set to cooperate with Google and join the search engine giant’s Library Project.  The CIC is composed of 12 major American research universities.

Yahoo is giving $1 million to Georgetown University to study the relationship between international values and Internet communications technologies. The fund will be known as the Yahoo International Values, Communications, Technology, and Global Internet Fellowship Fund.

Throughout the blogosphere, one can find untold informational references when it comes to search engine optimization. The problem, however, is that there are aspects of SEO, such as text-to-code ratio and link buying, in which a knowledge seeker could find many articles from opposite sides of the issue. Where is the real authority in the realm of SEO? Organic or Paid? Links or Content? These questions often spur much research from search professionals, but in the end are akin to the “tastes great vs. less filling” dilemma of endless debating.

WebSideStory's Digital Marketing University (DMU) is just around the corner in March - and I'm going to be teaching two classes this time.
