Google: You’re Not Saving the Rain Forests That Way!
Forestle is a search engine built on Google Custom Search, with the goal of saving the Rain Forests. That seems like a noble enough cause. Their methods of going about this, however, have gotten the site's search functionality revoked by Google. When you try to perform a search on Forestle, you get a big pink box with a message from the Forestle team. The message goes:

Yahoo Looks To AOL For Saving
And by screw I mean noose. Following the Yahoo/Microsoft saga is like watching a billion-dollar chess game, and Yahoo's current board only has a couple of moves left before they find themselves in check. It's not over, but it's close. Yang and company's last desperate move: Chat up TimeWarner/AOL about a possible $10 billion merger and get it done before the Wrestlemania of all annual board meetings on August 1st.

Ask, Dell Continue Energy-Saving Efforts
About three months ago, Ask joined a tree-planting program created by Dell to offset carbon emissions. Those trees are presumably doing just fine. The bigger piece of news relates to energy-efficient servers the two companies discussed, and those are also on track.
