Before we get started I need to tell you that I will need to fight a strong bias here to write about the issue of health records online. I have some background in the use, power and neglect of medical records from my days in the insurance business.

Contrary to what advertisers might like to believe, not everyone wants to see their ads. This is why televsion advertisers don't like TiVo. Advertising is how a lot of online businesses make their bread and butter though, and without ads, they simply could not generate enough revenue to stay alive. At least one online business believes that allowing users to turn off ads might actually be in its best interest.

Given the option of voting ads "up" or "down," a natural response is to either vote them all down (who likes ads?) or ignore the issue (since any participation would waste time).  Still, Facebook's allowing some users to have a say which is a move in the right direction.

The International Olympic Committee said athletes competing at the 2008 Summer Games in Beijing could possibly be allowed to blog about it – maybe – if they have to – but they're still not really sure if it's a good idea.

What's the danger of not letting your internal bloggers know about your product release plans?

I don't have a problem with Feedburner (I use their service myself and I think it's great), so please don't think that I'm picking on them.

Recently, I spent an afternoon with some friends at a go-cart track. We had the time of our life each pretending to be world class race car drivers. Although we were older than most of the people there we felt young and alive. We committed to doing this again and soon!
