Publishers Will Become Interactive Media Artists

Books Are Losing Relevancy Google and Amazon are both pushing to sell ebooks directly aggressively. An article in the NYT mentions a new device Amazon will offer for reading ebooks, but I don't think the problem with books and ebooks is that they need a better reader. Google now allows you to embed book pasages directly in web pages.

Q Interactive, Didit Stay Together On Search

Q Interactive provides its marketing services to about 1,500 brands per year, and maintains a stable of more than 1,000 partner sites.  And in the midst of all the big names and big business, Q Interactive selected Didit to handle its search engine marketing campaigns.  Again.

For all those who keep waiting for Internet marketing to replace TV, there was an interesting story in eMarketer today that shows how insurance companies are using both TV and search as a one-two punch. eMarketer reported the results of several research firms and adds its own (correct) conclusions.

FTC Clears Fox Interactive To Buy Photobucket

The FTC has no objections; Fox Interactive Media is free to acquire Photobucket.  As a result, the photo-sharing site will probably get snapped up in the near future.

Ask’s InterActive Could Buy Confused.com

There’s a fair amount of commotion surrounding Confused.com; the site, which is “a one-stop shop to help you find out whether you can save money on your car or home insurance this year,” may be accepting acquisition bids of well over $1 billion.  And a potential buyer may be InterActiveCorp, the owner of Ask.com.

After the Milwaukee Interactive Marketing Association

OK, I’m finally back in Salt Lake and able to take a few minutes to post about my recent trip to Milwaukee to present to the Milwaukee Interactive Marketing Association (MIMA). I am thoroughly impressed with the hospitality I was shown in Milwaukee. Everyone was very helpful and welcoming. I appreciate that very much. I intend to return to Milwaukee and see more of this great city.
