Is it just me, or has Feedster been completely useless for over 6 months now?

With the backing of Feedster co-founder and former Chief Technical Officer Scott Johnson, then Vice President of Sales and Marketing Chris Redlitz was promoted to president of the company on November 7th. By December 14th, Johnson was not only given his walking papers, but also was voted off the board of directors. Redlitz was voted onto the board in his place. Unlike when Redlitz was promoted to president, no press release was issued announcing the change.

According to anonymous sources, Feedster co-founder and Chief Technical Officer J. Scott Johnson was voted off the executive board of the company, presumably because of a difference in creative visions. Those differing visions may have spawned from a riff over the role of advertising in the future of Feedster, an assertion Murdok was unable to confirm.

A lot of criticism was flung at Forbes' Daniel Lyons after he characterized the blogosphere "an online lynch mob" that swarms the object of their blog-rage, whether the information is accurate or not. Lyons created his own self-fulfilling prophecy and was cyber-lynched by the same collection of pundits he had accused.

RSS search service provider, Feedster, announced today that it has launched an automated "self-service" engine for the Feedster Media Network. The service is designed to make it easier for online publishers to sign up and participate in the company's RSS targeted advertising program.

One of the unique things about blogs is their uncanny ability to get information in the hands of the people that need it most. Of course the information needs to be good information, otherwise it's useless dribble.

Okay so I took some time to review the first 100 blogs on the Feedster 500 [top 500 blogs in popularity as Feedster sees it]. Let me tell you, we've got a long way to go in blog search, ranking and categorization... this list is a great example of just that.

With the exploding popularity of all things blogs, keeping track of which ones are the most popular can be difficult task. It's been estimated that there are 30-80 thousand new blogs created daily, with 500-900 thousand* new posts being made as well. With this bulk of information being delivered daily, finding which blogs are considered popular, unless you have a list to guide you.
