Almost two weeks ago, a post called "December Updates in Google Earth" was made on the official LatLong Blog, and I figured Google's geographic information system (GIS) specialists were done for the year.  I was wrong, though, as they've just released new, more detailed imagery.

comScore Networks, a digital measuring firm has released a report on the top Web properties for December, ranked by unique visitors and who the biggest gainers were for 2006. Worldwide Internet usage increased 10 percent from December 2005 to December 2006. In the search category the top three sites that have the largest global audience grew 9 percent. Google the number two site worldwide increased visitors to their site by 13 percent.

The rich got richer during the big holiday month of December, as Google and Yahoo gained in comScore's search engine rankings while the competition gave ground.

Search engines led by Google and Yahoo processed nearly 5.1 billion queries from users in December 2005, a huge jump from the 3.2 billion they delivered in December 2004.
