Ok, it’s been a while since I’ve disagreed with CNET’s Elinor Mills–something that rarely happens, as she’s a fantastic journalist–but here goes.

What if the comments section in important blogs or popular discussion forums were portable and accessible from various sites and blogs across the Web, but still synchronized the conversation so that everyone could participate in one global discussion?

One of the neatest things about speaking at conferences on topics you’re passionate about is connecting with like-minded people. And one of the best things is meeting those who are yet to be wholly convinced but are willing to engage in discussion. That means you have to work quite hard to present some persuasive arguments for your point of view.

Earlier in the week, I received a copy of the galley proofs of Naked Conversations, the business blogging book by Shel Israel and Robert Scoble, due to hit the bookstore shelves next January.

"Markets are conversations" That phrase comes from the Cluetrain Manifesto and appears frequently in blog postings and comments.
