The editor and participants at the lively sports blog Deadspin attempted to establish a fund to benefit the family and platoon of Adam Knox, who died in the service of his country.

One short sentence in Google's fourth quarter financial press release has raised some eyebrows. "Google does not expect to make further donations to the Google Foundation for the foreseeable future." But, seeing as the philanthropic arm of Google made a call for job applicants today, it doesn't appear to have been thrown in the recycle bin.

Benevolence, good will and philanthropy are honorable principles to adhere to and run by, but when bills start amassing, a charitable organization will not be excused from payment despite its inherent noble ideals and objectives.

I was told that you have to reach a certain percent of donation from your annual income before you can claim it as tax deduction. Others tells me that they claim all their deduction no matter how much. I'm confused, please help! Thanks, Bernadette
