Now that the cat’s out of the bag on at least one internal mailing list, I figured I’d mention it here as well.
About a year and a half ago I was part of a small team that launched our developer network. At the time it was search-centric and called the Yahoo! Search Developer Network or YSDN for short.
It didn’t take long for the rest of the company to jump on board and for YSDN to become simply YDN: Yahoo! Developer Network. A dedicated team was formed to run YDN and I passed on the opportunity to be part of it (there was still more work to be done in the Search world). I did, however, pitch in when I could.
About a week ago I was presented with the opportunity to get back involved in the developer network and that’s exactly what I’m doing.
There’s a lot more work ahead of us and a lot of cool stuff to get out the door. Look over the roughly 20 properties and services that are currently part of the Yahoo! Developer Network, I’m reminded of how much can happen in a mere 18 months.
[One other person moved as well, but I’ll let him announce that if he chooses to do so.]
