YouTube Top Video Site In July

Americans viewed more than 11.4 billion videos in July for a total duration of 558 million hours according to comScore Video Metrix.

Google sites were again ranked as the top U.S. property with over 5 billion videos viewed accounting for 44 percent of the online video market. YouTube accounted for more than 98 percent of all videos viewed at the property.

Fox Interactive Media was second with 446 million videos representing 3.9 percent of the online video market, followed by Microsoft sites with 282 million videos (2.5%) and Yahoo sites with 269 million (2.4%).

Viacom Digital had more than 246 million videos viewed for 2.2 percent of the online video market followed by Disney Online with over 186 million videos (1.6%). Hulu ranked eighth with 119 million videos, representing 1 percent of all videos viewed.

More than 142 million U.S. Internet users watched an average of 80 videos per viewer in July. Google sites proved to be the most popular attracting 92.1 million visitors who watched an average of 55 videos per person.

Fox Interactive captured the second most viewers with 54.9 million, followed by Yahoo sites with 37.6 million and Microsoft site at 32.6 million.

The average online video viewer watched 235 minutes of video and 75 percent of the entire U.S. Internet audience watched online video.

YouTube attracted 91 million viewers who watched 5 billion videos and MySpace had 51.4 million viewers who watched 400 million videos on the site.

The length of the average online video was 2.9 minutes.
