Sometimes, searchers see odd things when using Google for their search engine needs, and Googlers Ambar Pansari and Marissa Mayer say that’s completely normal.
Sometimes, Google runs live experiments on Google, the Googler Duo posted on the official blog today.
Sometimes, users see those tests, while others do not. That’s ok, that’s the way it was meant to be.
Sometimes, Google chooses you. Relax.
Sometimes, you get to use boxes connected to Google Base to refine your search for jobs, or homes, without starting a brand new search.
Sometimes, Google delivers an alternative view, where little green bars demonstrate how many results other Google searches, like Images, may have for a topic.
Sometimes, if you’re logged in to your Google account, the search engine offers “a ‘Remove Result’ option that would omit particular results from future searches if you decide they’re not useful.” After all, some people play a bass, while others fish for bass. It’s fine if they do both, so long as they’re careful to rent a large enough bass boat to carry the Trace Elliot stack.
Sometimes, you’ll see these things on Google, and sometimes you won’t. “There’s no set schedule when we’ll roll out these sorts of new ideas (if at all),” the Googlers said. “But these tests help us to improve your search experience.”
