Yahoo Sings SiteBuilder’s Praises

Prices have been slashed.  Fees have been “WAIVED.”  And now you, yes, you, can “[b]uild a professional web site in 3 easy steps,” all thanks to Yahoo.

That’s right; our country’s second-most popular search engine corporation trotted out those cheesy advertising formulas.  Subtlety be damned, Yahoo wants everyone to know about its new SiteBuilder Tool.

“Building a web site is now easier than ever – even if you’ve never tried it before,” an official product description begins.  “Let us take care of the hard parts of building a site so you can focus on your customers!”

Over-exuberant marketing tactics aside, that might not be a bad offer.  For the low, low price of “$8.96/1st 2 mos.,” the tool earned Greg Sterling’s seal of approval.  “I was impressed by the balance of simplicity/ease-of-use and the fact that you could actually create something that would work as a viable site with the tool,” the Search Engine Land reporter acknowledged.

Yahoo failed to produce any other user testimonies, but your humble author also likes the looks of the company’s new SiteBuilder Tool.  When, um, building a site, there are forty broad categories of templates to choose from, and each offers several different designs and color schemes.  Options abound in terms of page, text, and photo layouts, as well.

Lastly, there’s one new feature that’s worth mentioning: “We submit your site to Yahoo! and Google search!” proclaims main page.

If the SiteBuilder Tool has piqued your interest, and if you can stand to look at more exclamation points, you can “See for yourself!” and try Yahoo’s demo.
