Yahoo Search Launches Their Own Blog

The search engine industry is an industry of act and react. When one company does something innovative (or just something, in many cases), the rest of the players, in some way, emulate it. Google, Yahoo, and Ask Jeeves have all made moves that have industry wide reactions. Keeping this in mind, Yahoo Search has announced that they have launched their own blog.

Yahoo’s blog serves as an outlet for Yahoo Search engineers and insiders to communicate with their users. A statement from their inaugural post indicates the idea behind Yahoo Search’s blog launch, “this blog is designed to provide a window into what our team is thinking and doing, in their own words (and maybe some guest bloggers as well).”

The blog presence comes just 6 months after the launch of Yahoo Search using their proprietary algorithms and spiders. The reason why Yahoo Search launched their own blog is explained by the follwoing statement: “search seems to increasingly be on a lot of people’s minds: users, webmasters, Internet companies, journalists, marketers, industry analysts, and investors alike all share a greater interest in the search industry than at any other time in the Internet’s history.”

Ideas like this, regardless of who did it first, come across as good ones because they indicate that companies like Yahoo are eager to communicate with their audience.
