CommPartners, a Voice over Internet Protocol (“VoIP”) facilitator providing IP telephony services and connectivity to service providers, today announced its selection as WisperTEL’s vendor of turnkey, wholesale VoIP services.
Based in Evergreen, Colorado, WisperTEL is a Wireless Internet Service Provider (“WISP”) currently providing high-speed Internet transport and other IP-based services to customers in 5 Colorado counties. WisperTEL will leverage CommPartner’s comprehensive VoIP platform to launch “wisperTEL-E-phone” service to its 1,700 broadband Internet subscribers. WisperTEL’s E-Phone service will incorporate unlimited local calling and such popular features as voicemail, Caller ID, and Call Waiting for $19.95 per month. Nationwide long distance services can also be purchased through WisperTEL at the flat rate of three cents per minute.
“We chose to work with CommPartners because of their robust nationwide network, the shortened time-to-market they could offer us, and their superior understanding and implementation of IP technology,” said Barry Pier, founder and chief executive officer of WisperTEL, “They really streamlined and simplified the launch process, and convinced us of the huge benefits of ‘buying’ VoIP over ‘building’ it ourselves.”
CommPartners provides VoIP facilitation services such as Subscriber Endpoint Control, Connectivity to the Public Switched Telephone Network (“PSTN”), Long Distance services, and Subscriber Management. Service providers can take advantage of all or any of these VoIP facilitation services, depending upon their existing network investments and VoIP requirements. WisperTEL will leverage CommPartners’ full turnkey solution, and will eventually add in such CommPartners-enabled, enhanced Small Office/Home Office (“SO/HO”) services as personalized fax, 800 number, and auto-attendant.
“WisperTEL’s selection of CommPartners validates our fundamental premise for existence,” said Dave Clark, co-founder and chief executive officer of CommPartners, “There is a great need on the part of small service providers for quality VoIP facilitation services. We are saving WisperTEL time and money, while simultaneously enhancing their revenues. We are excited to have been selected by WisperTEL, one of the more successful WISP’s nationwide, and will put forth every effort to make their launch a success.”
WisperTEL has already initiated a “soft” launch to pre-register interested subscribers, and intends to go “live” by September 15, 2004.
