I’m not ashamed to admit it. I am a font junkie. I have so many fonts on my computer that I have lost count. But while I may not know the exact number of fonts I have on my computer, I can easily find the perfect font for my creations within a minute or so.
How do I do it? I have created my own personal font directory. It is easy to create and a must have for all font-aholics like myself!
How to create your own personal font directory:
1. Open your favorite word processing program.
2. In a blank document, select the first font listed and choose a font size of 14 or larger.
3. Type the name of the first font and then proceed to type the entire alphabet, including the numbers and symbols. Depending on how detailed you want your font directory to be, you may wish to type both the upper and lower case letters.
4. Hit “enter” twice to create a blank space between your first font and your second font.
5. Repeat the sets above for each and every font you have, making sure to save your work through this process.
6. When you have completed an entry for all your fonts, you are now ready to print out a copy of your work. Simply print out your font directory and place your sheets in a binder.
With my font directory, I can simply browse through my pages and when the perfect font catches my eye, I head to my computer and select the font I want. Spending the time on my font directory did take some time, but the amount of time I have saved each time I want to print something is unbelievable.
