What’s On TV Tonight? MeeVee Knows

As the search engine industry continues to produce its niche segment, a number of specialty search engines have and will continue to sprout up.

Keeping with this rationale, please introduce yourselves to MeeVee.com, a vertical search engine dedicated to searching United States television listings.

Currently in the beta stage, MeeVee offers visitors two methods with which they can utilize the MeeVee service. The first method is as a guest, while the other includes signing up for a free membership. The membership service allows users to customize their channel lineups, giving members the option of having up to 5 separate ones.

Members also receive MeeVee recommendations, which are tailored to your personal settings. The guest designation allows users to search their channel listings, which are determined by the service provider for your area. Because MeeVee gives users the option of determining their service provider (which is done through a drop-down box), they include listings for the various satellite services as well.

MeeVee searches can be conducted by entering actors, topics, keyword, or program. The search engine also includes a video search feature, an alert system, and a program planner. In an apparent move that keeps unnecessary clutter away from query results, MeeVee searches forward for 12 days and back to midnight of the current day.
