Yes, every profession has it’s own code of conduct, ethics and jurisprudence. To belong to this supreme class of professionals you need to adhere strictly to this code or risk eviction.For the small internet driven home business, here’s a 13 step code of conduct for sure fire success:
1. Do as you would be done by.
2. Be absolutely honest in your product/service.
3. Be above board in all transactions.
4. Be tactfully truthful.
5. Answer all emails/communications/queries promptly.
6. Be predictable and trustworthy- If I say I am going to do something, I am going to do it.
7. Strive to provide quality and creativity of service like your life depends on it.
8. Deliver the best quality of service in the shortest time possible.
9. Approach each assignment with enthusiasm -“This is the big one” mental image- this immediately triggers a creative frenzy’ in your mind.
10. Be your own toughest boss and drive yourself to the point of no return.
11. Be courteous but firm.
12. Always be positive and optimistic.
13. Be tenacious. Do not quit. Keep Trying.
On the contrary the prevailing code happens to be:
1. Psychologically hypnotize your clients into a buying decision.
2. Do not answer your emails promptly.
3. Hide behind an email address and make yourself unreachable.
4. Include a lot of small print in the agreement [Who reads/understands it after all] to bind your client hand and foot.
5. Try and get rich quick instead of building a solid base. Grab the cash and run.
6. Use half truths and outright lies to back your claims.
7. Try and squeeze a poor unsuspecting individual out of his last bucks.
8. It is your right to grab everything free, even to the point of fraudulently hacking into download pages, creating credit card charge backs or other dubious means.
9. Spam your clients off the net.
10. What the heck, steal other people’s work and pass it off as your own.
11. Expect the pot of gold without an honest days work.
Which is it for you? Choose wisely. Be honest with yourself. Remember, if nothing else you still have to face your conscience for ever after. So strive to be in total harmony with yourself and you will succeed. For success has its own rules.
