I went to Julie’s site and even though this is not my thing 🙂 I wanted to help her because I could relate because I’ve seen my site for so long that I can’t see it objectively.
Anyway, I find that there is too much empty space on the pages, you have to scroll down too much and you’re not sure there is more. using more elaborate tables would be better. The box for signing up for the newsletter should be more visible on the portion of the page that you first see when you get to the site.
So maybe the links on the left side should be smaller to make room for some more that are in one vertical row in the middle. On some pages, the text is too wide taking the whole page. People don’t read wide text, if you think of a newspaper, the articles are not the width of the newspaper usually.
I guess what I’m saying is to put as much, without being too confusing, on the portion of the page that you first see, so that visitors can get an idea of what’s inside and decide to stay or not.
I hope this helps and I hope others tell you their opinion too because we really do need to know what the visitor is thinking, because we’ve seen our site too much! LOL
Good Luck
Lise
