Robert Scoble Quits Microsoft

Blogging pioneer and all-around good guy Robert Scoble is leaving Microsoft to join Podtech.net, a podcasting/video blogging start up that recently took in several million dollars in financing.

Over the last two and half years I have come to know Robert as a great friend. In fact, he inspired me to start blogging . This, as you know, lead to a major career change in my life and much more.

Scoble is one of the most generous and visionary people I know. In fact, he was gracious enough to grant me an interview him in my first 10 days of blogging. Although he is still very young, Robert has already made his mark on history. His high profile move to Microsoft in 2003 was a watershed moment for corporate blogging. He helped pave the way for many others inside and outside the corporation to follow in his footsteps. He changed the face of PR and now I am sure he will continue to do so with Podtech.net.

A hearty congratulations to Mr. S. Best wishes from your friend in New York.

(Full disclosures; I made a small note about Scoble’s career move on his Wikipedia article and Microsoft is an Edelman client)
