MySQL Partner Program Continues to Grow

MySQL AB has signed a Value-Added Reseller (VAR) agreement with GoldenGate Software who will become a Certified ISV Partner for MySQL.

GoldenGate’s Transactional Data Management software platform captures, routes, enhances and applies transactional data in real time, with guaranteed integrity across diverse database sources, including MySQL. Through the VAR agreement, GoldenGate can better assist MySQL users to synchronize data in real-time from diverse database sources into their MySQL databases. This will support customers looking to achieve real-time data integration across enterprise mission-critical applications, including web applications and real-time reporting to improve decision support.

“For some time now, mutual GoldenGate and MySQL customers have been using our solutions together, taking advantage of the high performance, lower cost MySQL database. Sabre Holdings is a great example of a mutual customer that is realizing tremendous benefits by using GoldenGate and MySQL on Linux in its new airfare shopping system, which averages 300,000 updates an hour to each of its 45 production MySQL servers,” said Tim Rathbun, executive vice president of marketing and product management for GoldenGate. “Our job at GoldenGate is to enable MySQL customers to deploy faster and realize benefits sooner. By moving the data in real-time from any database into MySQL, we help MySQL customers roll out projects more quickly,” added Rathbun. “We are delighted to see such strong demand among large enterprise customers for the MySQL solution and we are looking forward to a long and successful partnership.”

“Open source databases have matured greatly over the last few years and their expanding functionality has made them a lot more attractive to the large enterprise customer,” said Charlie Garry, senior program director at META Group, a leading provider of IT research, advisory services and strategic consulting. “Open architecture and the ability to work with many of the most popular databases, makes the synergies of these two technologies a natural to take to market. The combination can help companies looking for the best approach to migrate and integrate their critical transaction data from multiple databases into MySQL.”

“MySQL customers are greatly interested in easily accessing diverse data sources all across the enterprise,” said Zack Urlocker, vice president of marketing for MySQL AB. “Traditionally, the integration of large, disparate databases on different platforms has been a complex and time-consuming process. Fortunately, GoldenGate is a tremendous asset for users looking to run these types of real-time operations.”
