Mark Logic Announces New President and CEO

Mark Logic today announced that Dave Kellogg has been named president and chief executive officer.

An expert in the database and applications software industry, Kellogg brings to Mark Logic an impressive track record of more than 20 years in enterprise software, with key experience in marketing, operations, strategy and product life cycle management.

Prior to joining Mark Logic, Kellogg was senior vice president of worldwide marketing at Business Objects, a leading business intelligence software company, where he was part of the executive team that grew the company from $30 million in revenue and 250 people to over $850 million and over 4,000 people during his nine year tenure. His responsibilities included product marketing, corporate communications, industry development, sales and marketing infrastructure, competitive intelligence, partner marketing and field marketing.

“I came to Mark Logic because we address the last, great unsolved problem in IT — leveraging unstructured content,” Kellogg said. “Our platform allows customers to unlock the value of ‘the other 80 percent’ of their business information — the information that is trapped in documents. I’ve spent the last nine years helping organizations unlock the numbers trapped in their systems with business intelligence technology. I look forward to spending the coming years helping organizations unlock the value of their content.”

Before Business Objects, Kellogg was vice president of marketing at Versant Object Technology, a provider of object database management systems. Prior to that, he held a number of technical and marketing positions with Ingres Corp., a maker of relational database systems and tools, concluding his time there as director of product marketing.

“With an exceptional background in enterprise software and comprehensive list of achievements in the areas of software applications and databases, Dave has clearly demonstrated the right skills to lead Mark Logic and will prove to be an invaluable asset,” said Sam Cece, chairman of the board at Mark Logic. “I look forward to working closely with Dave as he guides the company to the next stage of its evolution.”
