On December 26, the movie will be available for download on sites like iTunes and Amazon.com, for $10 to $15. It will also be available on DVD and will include 45 minutes of extras, which will retail for $30.

JackassWorld.com will make its debut online along with “Jackass 2.5” and be the permanent host for the franchise beginning February 9. The site will include an archive of 24 episodes of “Jackass”.

“If this works, it could open up and really change the game about additional content that studios can create,” Thomas Lesinski, president of Paramount Pictures Digital Entertainment told the NYT.

“We’re trying to assess here not only the potential for a broadband movie online, but also the different ways to distribute,” Mr. Lesinski said. “Within 30 days we’ll have a very good idea where the consumption is coming from.”

On January 1, ad supported sites like Joost will allow users to watch the movie, or some clips for free. In February the movie will be available on cable and satellite TV video-on- demand services.
