ITWeb in conjunction with Brainier Capital are hosting the IT Confidence 2005 Conference in Johannesburg late next month.
It is a one-day event featuring analysts, economists and corportate executives, who will offer their projections regarding the South African ICT sector for the next year.
The conference will be held at Gallagher Estate, Johannesburg, on February 23.
Brian Rainier, of Brainier Capital commented, “It was interesting to see that the consensus views coming out of last year’s event proved to be largely correct. This year’s views will be further illuminating as we gain insights into expectations and views around such issues as the rand/dollar situation, black economic empowerment (once again), as well as the effect of the telecoms deregulations.”
Speakers include Gordon Fraser, Managing Director of Microsoft South Africa who will present on “Building a Strong Knowledge Economy – The Next Steps”.
Other speakers at this years event are Chris Hart, senior treasury economist at Absa; Brett Dawson, group CEO of Dimension Data; Mavuso Msimang, CEO of SITA; Mark Walker, director at BMI-TechKnowledge; Franca Disilvestro, director at HSBC; Steuart Pennington, CEO of SA: The Good News; and Brian Rainier, MD of Brainier Capital & Consulting.
