HP Announces Two New iPod Additions

Today, Hewlett-Packard announced two additions to Apple’s iPod family, giving users the ability to take their music with them, as well as their photo library. HP, who introduced the color screen to the iPod line-up, made the photo feature possible.

HP iPod There are two versions of the HP’s iPod, the 30 gigabyte, which holds up to 7500 songs; and the 60-gigabyte model, which has double the capacity. According to HP, in addition to a music library, the new iPod models can each hold up to 25,000 digital photos, which can be displayed on the high-resolution color display that was integrated into these new models.

Not only that, but by using the optional audio-visual cable accessory, users can share their photo albums while displaying them on overhead projectors and television monitors.

Siobhan O’Connor, vice president, Consumer Brand and Marketing, HP, says, “HP offers consumers simple, fun ways to enjoy and personalize their music and photo experiences. Along with products such as our new Media Center PCs, now available with an integrated iPod dock and pre-installed Apple iTunes software, these new iPods round out a complete music solution from HP.”

Not only can users view their photos in full color, HP also introduced HP Printable Tattoos, which allows owners to customize the cover of their iPods using their own photos or by downloading stock photos from directly from HP. These “tattoos” are water resistant, but are easy to remove from an iPod’s case.

The 30-gigabyte model is priced at $349, while the 60 costs $449.
