How to revive a failing MLM? Purchase Leads

Let’s face it you only have so many friends and family members that you can call to try to recruit into your home-based business. Don’t be put off that they might not want to join. Not everybody is ready to “give up their day jobs” to join you.

Finding motivated, qualified individuals that have your same mindset of working from home is very hard if you don’t know where to look. The number one complaint heard is that you were sold this program with the promise that others will want to do it too. That frustration stems from your business not growing quickly enough.

The issue isn’t that there are not enough motivated, qualified people around to join your business. The issue is you don’t know where to look. If you are stuck and not getting anywhere in the business then you should look to a lead broker to help you stimulate your fledgling company.

A word about leads:

Leads come in a variety of forms that will be described below. However leads are not sales! You still have to sell the prospect on your business. People who fill out lead forms for home-based businesses are typically just like you. These people want to work from home but are probably a bit skeptical. Also a good percentage of them are just fishing wondering what is out there and if they should even consider getting involved. You need to follow the proven sales tactics of your respective businesses to convert these prospects into customers.

Also, keep in mind that they have probably filled out many forms on business opportunities. This can be good and bad.

*It’s good because they are clearly interested at that moment about a business opportunity. A motivated prospect is the best kind to have.

*It’s bad because they have probably filled out 5 different lead forms and they have been called about different opportunities. They are probably going through information overload.

The buzzwords you should be looking for in the lead business are:

*Fresh – This means the leads were just produce within the last 24 – 48 hours.

*Exclusive – You are the only one buying this set of leads. They are not being resold.

*Fields – Fields are the information that you want such as: Name, Address, City, St, Zip, Phone, Email, Best time to call, Amount to invest, Etc. The more fields you want the more the leads cost.

*Co-Reg – This means that the lead was produce from an advertisement that was also advertising some other product or service. Typically these are less expensive leads.

*Phone Verified – This means that either a machine or a telemarketer recalled all of the leads to check to make sure all of the information is correct. Typically this is a fairly expensive business opportunity lead.

*Phone Qualified – Very expensive. A telemarketer always does this after the lead is produced. They will ask qualifying questions like “Do you realize that this offer runs $99.00?” “Are you willing to spend that type of money if the offer appeals to you?”

*Custom – Custom leads are generated using the look and feel of your product or service. So if you are selling Shaklee as an example the lead form will have the Shaklee logo, the typical Shaklee ad copy, and the fields you want filled out. These are more expensive than generic leads. Get these phone verified as well and you have a good lead source.

*Generic – The Generic leads will have a standard set of fields. The ad copy will just talk about business opportunities in general not your specific opportunity. These can be excellent leads when bought in quantity. Especially if you get them phone verified.

*Lead Source – Some people want to know how the lead was generated. Most leads today are created using a popup or popunder ad. If email was used as the lead tool you should insist that it was double opt-in. Double opt-in means that the person who filled in the form was asked twice if they really wanted the information submitted. They could also be Co-Reg as described earlier.

*AutoResponder Leads – These are typically the least expensive of all leads. They are to be placed into an autoresponder like http://www.getresponse.com/index/54335. The autoresponder then follows up with the prospect on a continual basis until: A – the person joins or B – The person unsubscribes. People who don’t like talking to prospects on the phone should use this type of lead. Here is a source for this type of lead http://www.autoresponder-leads.com

All leads have to be paid for upfront. No lead broker is going to send you leads without receiving payment. The reason is once you have the leads they can’t get them back. Also they probably don’t want them back because you already called the leads so they are no longer exclusive. For very large orders lead brokers typically don’t take credit cards. Normally a wire transfer or a company check is required.

Lead costs very depending on which type you buy. Here are some current typical charges for small quantities. The price spread comes from the number of fields needed plus how much inventory is available.

*AutoResponder leads – around $100 for 1,000 leads ($0.10/lead) *Generic Single Opt In -$0.75 to $2.00/lead *Generic Double Opt In -$1.50 to $2.50/lead *Generic Phone Verified – $1.75 to $3.50/lead *Custom (large quantities only) – $1.50 to $2.50/lead *Custom Phone Verified (large quantities only) – $1.75 to $5.00/lead

If you need to get your business kick started then consider purchasing leads. There are 1000s of people just like you wanting to work from home.
