1. Make your email signature work for you. Your email is like a tiny billboard, if you use it right. Keep it short but make sure you get on there at the top, an invite to subscribe to your ezine, at the bottom, what you do, your URL and your tagline.
2. Submit (and submit again) to the top search engines. No need to pay. Here’s one of my favorite mass submission sites – www. submitexpress.com, and there are many more. Use your search engine skills and resubmit routinely. Put it on your calendar for the first of the month.
3. Apply for a web site award. Enter “web site award” in a search engine and see what you come up with. I won the Golden Web Award, you can too! But you can’t it you don’t submit your site. Here’s Ravi’s Pick Elite Site – http:// www.netutopia.com/award/ – just to get you started.
4. Exchange Web Links. Ask others in allied areas to exchange links with you. Takes time, but it’s worth it.
5. Have a marketing coach improve your metatags and keywords. It can make all the difference.
6. And check out your competitors’. To do this, go to their site, click “View” and then click “Source.” Sometimes it’s disabled, sometimes it isn’t.
7. Make your website dynamic. If they know it’s going to have fresh content, resources, polls, etc., they’ll return … and maybe bring their friends with them.
8. Have a way on your website for people to join your ezine, and to send the webpage to others, and invite them to do this
