GuruNet Brings Answers To Your Fingertips

If combing through page after page of search engine results isn’t your cup of tea, GuruNet.com may have an answer for you. GuruNet for Windows, one of four products GuruNet.com offers, gives the ability to find answers with a simple ALT-Click.

A description from GuruNet.com says, “just Alt-Click (press the “Alt” key and click your mouse) to look up any word or name on your screen without leaving your application.”

The results are brought to users in a pop up window that uses a tab system called Smart Tabs to navigate with. GuruNet for Windows answers the user by querying its content system that contains a library with over 700,000 topics. The results are displayed in answer format, not links to web pages.

GuruNet references Houghton-Mifflin American Heritage Dictionary, Houghton-Mifflin Dictionary of Cultural Literacy, Roget’s Thesaurus, and Columbia University Press Encyclopedia to name a few.

The results that GuruNet returns are answers. These consist of definitions, stock quotes, encyclopedia research, acronyms, and much more.

GuruNet for Windows is not browser dependent. You can ALT-click on any word in an open window, be it email, word document, or any kind of text, and GuruNet delivers a list of answers to you.

This is a useful tool when you need answers quickly and may not have the time to search 3 or 4 relevant websites for the information you need.

GuruNet’s service costs $29.99 a year. There is also a 14 day free trial available from the GuruNet.com.
