Googles Been Screening For Chefs Job

Reading Google’s blog entry today made my mouth water. It seems they’ve been interviewing chefs who sent in rsums for their open chef listings a few weeks ago. They posted some of their menu choices the interviewees presented.

They posted some incredibly tasty sound dishes that sound more like dishes from the Iron Chef than any work cafeteria I’ve ever heard of. They mention dishes like Edamame Hummus, Thai Red Curry Dragon Fly Noodles (this one sounded incredible), and Dungeness Crab Cakes w/ Black Pepper-Lemon Aioli.

They’ve got the complete recipes over at the Googleblog. I have to say I’m impressed. Those dishes do sound incredibly tasty. This recipe is from their site and you can feel the warmth in the cayenne pepper, the jalapenos and curry paste:

Thai Red Curry Dragon Fly Noodles

1 T. toasted sesame oil
c Andouille sausage, sliced
c. 6-8 shrimp
1 T. red onion, diced
1 T. garlic, minced
1 T. fresh ginger, minced
1 T. red curry paste
1 T. shrimp paste
4 T. dry white wine
1 c. coconut milk
1 c. organic chicken stock
c. jumbo lump crabmeat
Pinch Cayenne pepper
tsp Jalapeno pepper, minced
c. baby corn
tsp. salt
Fresh cracked pepper to taste
c. fresh cilantro, chopped
c. scallions, sliced
16 oz. Chinese egg noodles, cooked

Heat oil in a wok. Saut andouille and shrimp for 2 minutes. Set aside. In separate pot, cook noodles, drain, and set aside.

Add red onion, garlic, ginger, red curry paste, shrimp paste and saut in wok for 1-2 minutes.
Deglaze with white wine. Add coconut milk and chicken stock. Bring to a low boil, simmer for 5 minutes.

Add andouille, shrimp, crabmeat and all remaining ingredients. Simmer 2 minutes until heated through.

Maybe you should try it at home. I plan too. You can search for tongue burn remedies while you’re at it.
