Google Maps Discussion Groups Expand

Just received a message regarding the Google maps discussion group which is now expanding and branching out into several new areas… details follow:

When Google Maps first launched, we created this group to give users an opportunity to discuss all things related to Maps. Now we want to make your Maps experience even richer. We’ve reformatted the group to include three sub-groups: “How do I,” “Troubleshooting,” and “For Business Owners.” With this change, we hope to offer you answers to questions we’ve seen in emails sent to us over the past year about Google Maps and the Google Local Business Center.

Please note that this group is currently available only through Google Groups and that the previous content will be available by searching or browsing our “Past Discussions” section.

If you’re interested in reading our help articles for Google Maps, please check out the Google Maps Help Center at LINK. We strive to keep this information up-to-date and relevant to current issues associated with Google Maps. If you can’t find your answer there, please post a question to this group. Users of Maps and Google employees who work on Maps may post to the group and respond to your question. Any Google employee who participates in the group will always post with the nickname “Google Maps Guide.”

It probably goes without saying, but we want to reiterate that the Google Maps group encourages free and open discussion on all aspects of Google Maps. The one thing that’s not welcome is posts unrelated to this topic, and we reserve the right to delete posts that we consider inappropriate. In addition, this group explicitly prohibits the
following:

– Posting of commercial advertisements or other promotional material.

– Spamming/excessive multi-posting.

– Chain letters.

– Binary (non-text) postings.

– Forgery of another user’s identity.
