F-Secure SSH for Unix 5.0

WRQ announced the availability of F-Secure SSH (Secure Shell) for UNIX 5.0, providing customers a solid solution for priority security needs including reliability, broad platform support, manageability, and usability.

The new release of F-Secure SSH demonstrates WRQ’s ongoing focus on security, marks another milestone toward servicing F-Secure SSH customers, and delivers on WRQ’s partnership with F-Secure.

WRQ and F-Secure formed a strategic partnership in September 2004, establishing WRQ as the exclusive global distributor of F-Secure SSH.

“The release of F-Secure SSH for UNIX 5.0 is a clear indication that we are on track with our business, customer, and security strategies such as delivering ongoing value, following through on our commitment to partners, assisting the channel, and focusing intensely on security,” said Randy Robinson, vice president of products at WRQ.

Today’s chief security officers and IT administrators place extensive requirements on the high-tech vendors who serve them. New demands call for proven solutions that are applicable in heterogeneous IT environments, are easy to use, and mitigate costs and labor.

Such customer requirements came into play with the development of F-Secure SSH for UNIX 5.0. The new SSH product addresses reliability concerns via rigorous testing required for FIPS 140-2 level 2 validation. F-Secure SSH for UNIX 5.0 is currently in the validation review stage. The Windows version of F-Secure SSH, released previously, has already achieved FIPS 140-2 level 2 validation, the highest level of certification extended to any SSH product in the marketplace. Given the heavy use of SSH within government and financial services industries, FIPS certification builds important confidence and acceptability among key customer segments.

In addition, F-Secure SSH for UNIX 5.0 offers customers expanded platform support, improved integration and administration capabilities, and usability enhancements that improve productivity and time savings.
