Findory.com Streamlines News Search

Working through the huge amount of news available online can be a daunting task. Findory.com agrees that the amount of news available is mountainous and has launched a site that addresses this issue.

With the tagline “Personalized News: Your News, Your World” Findory promises to deliver a more streamlined method of delivering Internet news. Findory offers users the ability to personalize the type of news they read by adapting to their reading habits (stories that you click). Findory does this by assigning a cookie to each visitor that keeps track of the users preferences.

By setting up a free account and selecting the types of stories that interest you, Findory displays news headlines according to your personalization when you login. The site also offers a history link that keeps track of all the articles you have read.

Findory will also adapt to your reading preferences if you change the type of topics that you are interested in. The site will keep track of your reading habits and adapt personalized news accordingly.

As reported in the Seattle Times, Greg Linden, founder of Findory.com, was previously employed by Amazon.com and co-founded the personalization techniques that the online shopping behemoth uses.

Findory.com plans to sell text advertisements that will appear on the results page, similar to Google’s AdSense program.
