Don’t Punish Yourself Doing (Type X) Business

Are you type X or type Y?

Don’t worry, it ain’t gonna hurt you until you really understand what you should be? Type X, or Type Y!

In today’s hyper-competitive world, there’s no better way to live your dreams than to have your online business burnt into your prospect’s head.

In September 2000, when I decided to launch NicheChallenge.com, I had a couple of other different projects to do as well. I knew if I get myself engage in getting into those projects with this one, I might not concentrate on NicheChallenge.

And, I was right. My four years online experience have shown that concentrating on a single business platform is the key to success.

No jokes. There are basically two school of thoughts that govern success on the Net. One is the short term, the other is long term (in sense of survival). It’s upto you which school of thought fits you most.

The first school of thought (Type X) calls for having number of online businesses in a portfolio. The idea is to have cyber-income from any, or all of these businesses in a portfolio.

If one business fails, the second one is in-line. If second fails, third is there to save you from the dooms day. And on.. and on.. and on. Nevertheless, this approach is rather short term, and rarely result in a continuous stream of online profits. There are reasons for this as we shall explore more in a moment.

As with the Web, it seems quite reasonable and profitable to have multiple cash generating businesses working 24×7 on autopilot producing unlimited income. But this sort of business idea onle create a beautiful castle in the wanna-be entrepreneur’s mind, which he/she carries there for long until it get vandalized.

However, there’s another way of doing business, and a real good one which is a sure-fire way to make things big… really BIG on the Net.

The second school of thought (Type Y) is the way that helped people make real online fortunes. This approach runs on a long term basis, with a strong and powerful Web presence for you which never fails. Doubts? Read on…

This second school of thought states that you have a single online business (must be niche based) that create a brand recognition for you. Branding is very important on the Net. Heck, few people are able to make strong brands as their token to unlimited earnings. You really can’t afford to be number 2. There’s a price to be paid — which you may or may not be prepared to pay.

One of my friend, and a very successful affiliate marketing guru Allan Gardyne of AssociatePrograms.com have created a wonderful example of (Type Y) business. He is considered an authority on affiliate programs. His directory of Affiliate Programs is the most comprehensive resource that is literally a treasure for anyone seeking affiliate income.

For some people, the former approach makes sense, i.e., (Type X), as they believe since the Net is an ideal place for having multiple revenue streams. Followers of (Type X) business have to go long long way promoting so many businesses online. In the end, they get nowhere whirling around in cyberspace. Sure, multiple revenue stream makes online business the choice of every aspiring entrepreneur, but it shouldn’t be practiced haphazardly without any direction.

Carving a niche with specific audience in mind can generate a lot more income than one can possibly imagine — and all without the fuss of getting trapped in countless ventures producing insignificant, or no results.

The best way to start with the e-commerce craze is to have a specific theme business. Once the theme business gets established, grow this theme business in multiple sub-theme or sub-niche businesses. That’s the key to succcess.

If you want to have a look of a perfect (Type Y) business, point your web browser to the following URL: http://www.sitesell.com/niche1.html The owner of this site, Dr. Ken Evoy has crafted a wonderful example of (Type Y) business. That’s hard to knock out. Therefore, in this case less becomes more.

Remember, don’t be a victim of hype. It just doesn’t work as it sounds. You’ll only loose your valuable time and money with the (Type X) business. Be creative, identify a niche and make your business number 1 — since you’re one of your kind. Aren’t you?
