Dogpile Web Search Toolbar Now Offers Olympics Coverage via RSS

The Olympics RSS feed covers the latest breaking news on medals, events, competitors and more and is immediately available to all users who download the Dogpile Toolbar.

The Dogpile Toolbar is a compact, yet powerful, application that resides within the Web browser and provides convenient access to a variety of useful features from anywhere on the Internet. The Toolbar includes a scrolling content ticker feature that makes accessing syndicated XML content easier by streaming a user’s personalized list of feeds directly within their Web browser. Clicking on any headline within the ticker takes users directly to the full story on the content publisher’s Web site.

The Toolbar also makes it easy to add new RSS and Atom feeds. Using the automated RSS Scanner, users simply visit a Web site and select “Add Content” from a drop down menu on the Toolbar to view a list of available content from that site. Users can then select any number of feeds from those available and add them with one click. To protect users’ privacy, all information regarding personalized feed lists is stored locally on their computer.

The Dogpile Search Engine and Toolbar have received a number of awards from industry and consumer technology press. In the past six months, the Dogpile Toolbar has received both the “PC Magazine Editors’ Choice Award” and “PC World Best Bet Award.” PC World also named Dogpile first runner-up in the Search Engines category, behind category winner Google. In addition, industry newsletter Search Engine Watch named Dogpile “Best Metasearch Engine.”
