CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment 2004 to Feature Apple, Vodafone, Microsoft, and Yahoo!

Today, CTIA – The Wireless Association announced the keynote speakers for the upcoming CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment 2004, October 25-27, 2004 in San Francisco, California.

Ed Colligan of palmOne, Inc., Sean Maloney of Intel, Ron Markezich of Microsoft, Scott Gode of Microsoft, Paul Jacobs of QUALCOMM, Graeme Ferguson of Vodafone, Frank Casanova of Apple, Daniel Rosensweig of Yahoo! and Craig McCaw of Clearwire are scheduled to open each day of this event, the fastest growing wireless Internet and mobile data show in the industry.

“This may be one of the most diverse and impressive lineups of keynote speakers at a CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment event,” said Steve Largent, President and CEO of CTIA after announcing the lineup of keynote speakers. “These are the MVP’s of the wireless data industry, the visionaries who are shaping the wireless world of today and tomorrow. Ed Colligan
President, palmOne, Inc.

Prior to being named President of palmOne, Inc. in June 2004, Mr. Colligan was a palmOne Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Wireless Business Unit. Before that, he was President and Chief Operating Officer of Handspring, Inc. where he led the development and marketing efforts for handheld computers and Treo smartphones before the company was acquired by palmOne in October 2003.

Sean Maloney
Executive Vice President & General Manager, Intel Communications
Group, Intel Corp.

Mr. Maloney began his Intel career in 1982 at its European headquarters where he spent nine years, first as Intel UK’s Manager of Applications Engineering, then as Country Manager of Intel UK, and Director of Marketing for Intel Europe. He was promoted to Senior Vice President in January 1999, and Executive Vice President in January 2001. He took over as Head of Intel Communications Group (ICG) in April 2001.

Ron Markezich
Chief Information Officer, Microsoft Corp.

In his position as CIO, Mr. Markezich is responsible for driving and delivering IT services and line of business applications for Microsoft Corporation. This entails directing all activities related to running the global IT infrastructure, IT services, and information security in addition to line of business application development, support and maintenance.

Scott Gode
Strategic Global Director, Mobile & Embedded Devices Division,
Microsoft Corp.

As the Strategic Global Director for the Business and Operator Team, Mr. Gode is responsible for managing strategic partnerships, business development and product marketing for Microsoft’s mobile devices and solutions to both business (enterprise, mid-market and small business) as well as wireless carriers around the world. Mr. Gode and his team focus on selling and marketing the Microsoft Pocket PC and Smartphone to various business segments and audiences as well as to key stakeholders in the Mobile Operators worldwide.

Day Two – Mobile Entertainment – 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Level Three, Moscone West

Dr. Paul Jacobs
President, QUALCOMM Wireless & Internet Group

As Group President of QUALCOMM Wireless & Internet Group, Dr. Jacobs oversees QUALCOMM Internet Services, QUALCOMM Technology Licensing, QUALCOMM Wireless Business Solutions and QUALCOMM Digital Media. Dr. Jacobs is also responsible for overseeing standards organization as well as corporate engineering.

Graeme Ferguson
Executive Head, Content Development, Vodafone Group Services Ltd.

Mr. Ferguson joined Vodafone in August 2002 to lead the Content Development Team, which is Vodafone’s central content broker providing a single-focus point for the development of commercial relationships with leading multi-market content providers, key media owners and premium rights holders. Graeme’s entire focus is to ensure Vodafones’ customers continue to have access to the best range of world-class premium content and services.

Frank Casanova
Senior Director, Quicktime Product Marketing, Apple, Inc.

As Senior Director of Mac OS X Audio and Video Product Marketing, Mr. Casanova drives the worldwide strategy and product marketing behind Apple’s innovative and award-winning media technology products. His responsibilities include Core Audio, Core Video and Core Image technologies in OSX, the QuickTime family of products and business development for Apple’s industry-leading 3G mobile multimedia solutions.

Daniel Rosensweig
Chief Operating Officer, Yahoo! Inc.

Appointed Chief Operating Officer in April 2002, Mr. Rosensweig oversees the operations of Yahoo! worldwide. Functions reporting to him include product development, marketing, international operations, and North American operations, which encompasses the Company’s six business units and advertising sales.

Craig McCaw Chairman
CEO and President, Clearwire Corporation

Regarded as a pioneer and leader in the wireless communications industry, Mr. McCaw has been an active entrepreneur and investor in the communications industry for over 35 years, and is well known for founding McCaw Cellular Communications, which was acquired by AT&T in 1994. Currently, Mr. McCaw is Chairman, CEO and President of Clearwire Corporation, a wireless broadband services provider, which is deploying services domestically and internationally using non-line-of-sight (“NLOS”) wireless broadband access equipment manufactured by NextNet Wireless, Inc., maker of the most widely deployed NLOS wireless broadband equipment in the world.
