Cisco Systems, Inc. today announced the launch of a new community portal exclusively designed for Cisco certified individuals. The portal will provide an interactive forum for customers with valid Cisco certifications to network with Cisco subject matter experts, employees, partners, resellers and other customers as well as share and gather networking best practices.
With over 500,000 Cisco certifications issued to date, the core group of Cisco certified individuals represents a community of networking professionals willing to learn and share knowledge. Currently in a pilot phase, the portal offers access to news, discussion groups, video presentations, white papers, articles and other content on networking tools and learning. In addition to covering major technologies such as IP voice, storage, wireless and security, the community offers updates about the Cisco certification program including recent changes, re-certification requirements and upcoming courses and exams. Other value-added features include tips on passing CCIE lab exams, “Ask the Experts” and “Tech Talk” video-on-demand segments.
“Like courses and exams, communities are also aimed at providing lifelong learning opportunities for our certified professionals,” says Don Field, senior manager, Internet Learning Solutions Group, Cisco Systems. “Besides offering practical advice on networking to Cisco certified individuals, the certification community portal will allow Cisco certified individuals to share knowledge – perhaps one of the best ways to learn. Furthermore, because the portal is in the pilot stage, some of the features are still in development and we look forward to feedback from the site’s users as we develop and enhance this new benefit.”
Certified customers can visit www.cisco.com/go/certcommunity to view and participate. The portal content is free of charge to Cisco certified individuals after online verification of certification status.
