Hi Carey,
I just bought an EMachine that has a CDRW, but it didn’t come with software like Roxio. I know that XP has built in software, but it isn’t user friendly. When I tried to load my Roxio platinum I encounterd the problem you addressed on your site where the recorder disappears.
Is there a solution to the problem? A different piece of software that would work with xp? I’m at a loss.

Hi Michelle!
You will need to get the latest updates from Roxio at www.roxio.com and install them to ensure that the version of Easy CD Creator you are running has all the fixes necessary to work in Windows XP (Unless you are using version 6although there are still updates available for it as well).
With regards to the CD-RW drive disappearing, my web-site does have that problem and resolution detailed. I will cut and paste that information here for you:
Problem: CD-ROM drives are missing and the following message appears in the Device Manager “Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Code 37)” in the details window for both my cd-rom and cd-recordable drives.
