There is a way to influence consumers online particularly on your e-commerce website.
There are in fact quite a few e-commerce websites that implement such tactics, problem is many other companies don’t. Here are the “tricks”
Some of the things you can add to your site to influence your visitor is quantity of a certain product sold today.
This tells your visitor that what they are considering to buy is actually GOOD and many others approve it.
Can this influence the consumer? Oh yes it can.
Another tactic is showing a low quantity in stock for a certain item “Only 4 in stock”. Good influence?
Yes it is.
“Our Top 5 best sellers” is another way to let your shopper know that this item is “loved” by others. This reinforces their taste / choice.
Well how about those “customer reviews” sections? Don’t we read at least a few of them (especially the bad ones)? It can also be a huge influence.
Well, what if you sell a “service” and not necessarily a “product”. You can use the “busy” tactic.
Tell them your next available date to provide the service. “We take on only 5 clients a month, we should have an opening in a week”.
There are many other tactics for “service” business I just can’t think of any at the moment. Feel free to comment on it below.
Influencing your visitor with the huge loyal community you have is also a great strategy. A big forum, message board, testimonials, etc.
How about a discount code that’s going to expire in less than 24 hours?
We tested it before works like a charm. (may not be appropriate in some industries)
If you say that you personally do not get influenced by things mentioned above my answer to you would be;
1) You’re lying
2) Not everyone is tough like you
