Ask Jeeves Teams Up With The Red Cross For Hurricane Relief

Search engine Ask Jeeves has announced that they will be teaming up with the Red Cross to provide much needed relief funds to victims of the recent hurricanes. To assist with the relief effort, Ask has launched redcross.ask.com with ideas of donating funds gained from search queries.

According to their press release, Ask will donate 100% of the profits it receives from searches conducted on the Red Cross version of Ask.com. Ask has pledged a minimum of $50000 and a maximum of $1 million.

“Search is the most used activity on the Web. With over 20 million users every month, Ask Jeeves felt we were in a good position to assist the Red Cross in its disaster relief efforts. Now people can contribute just by going about their everyday searching,” said Steve Berkowitz, CEO of Ask Jeeves, Inc.

“The American Red Cross relies on the support of people throughout the country to be able to provide food, shelter and other services in times of crisis. Ask Jeeves is offering their support at a time when the hurricanes have left thousands in need. So, tell a friend. Tell a family member. Then start searching and giving. Ask Jeeves has made it simple to make a difference in the lives of others,” said Skip Seitz, Senior Vice President of Growth and Integrated Development for the American Red Cross.
