Just as it did 40 years ago, at 9:32 AM ET this morning, Saturn V launched into the virtual skies, its destination… the Moon and history books everywhere.

To honor the Apollo 11 mission you can re-live the entire launch, in real-time, via a full-featured flash website entitled “We Choose the Moon“. The site, made possible by the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum along with AOL, will feature all eleven stages of the original space mission.

The site provides information on the astronauts, various countdowns of mission stages, and even clickable icons, which show videos, images and much more.
We Choose the Moon has made it very easy to follow the mission. They have widgets for your desktop even some for both Facebook and MySpace. You can even follow the mission via Twitter with the three-seperate accounts that will keep you informed on various mission details:
