Yahoo!s Job Hunting With The Stars

Share

How would you like your rsum looked over with a fine-toothed comb by former White House silver-tongued spin doctor Ari Fleischer? Yahoo! HotJobs is holding a contest that will make that a possibility. The Celebrity Dream Team Makeover is a national contest that will see three winners get one-on-one career coaching sessions with celebrity professionals.

The sessions, hosted by “Sex and the City” costume designer Patricia Field, former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer and “The Devil Wears Prada” author Lauren Weisberger, will serve as workshops where the celebrities will “make over” the candidates’ rsum writing techniques, interview skills and professional styles.

Marc Karasu, vice president and career expert for Yahoo! HotJobs, will also work with the winners on job search techniques and networking. In addition, each winner will get a check for $10,000.

“January is usually a time of year when we see a rise in the number of people searching for jobs, and we wanted to provide those job seekers with a special opportunity to brush up on their skills,” said Karasu.

The contest coincides with the peak of job-hunting season — a time when many hiring budgets get renewed and New Year’s resolutions are made. This year’s job-hunting season is expected to be the most robust in years with numerous job market outlooks forecasting big gains in employment rolls for 2006.

To enter for a chance to win this opportunity, job seekers can visit www.hotjobs.com, submit or update their resume between today and February 20, 2006, and write a brief explanation why they deserve a personalized Celebrity Dream Team Makeover. Job seekers at any career level can apply.
