Yahoo Saves Its Toolbar And Bookmarks

Share

New beta versions of the Yahoo Toolbar for Internet Explorer and Yahoo Bookmarks have debuted with added features for their users.

Users of Yahoo MyWeb may wish to take note of the latest news from the company. It looks like MyWeb will come to an end soon:

The all new Yahoo! Bookmarks will focus on personal saving, organization, and recovery while our comrades at del.icio.us will concentrate on meeting your social bookmarking and sharing needs. For users of MyWeb, your bookmarks are safe, and in a few months you’ll be able to roll over to either Yahoo! Bookmarks or del.icio.us.>
The development teams for the Toolbar and Bookmarks products provided a summary of the new features made available with the release of those beta versions:

New Yahoo! Toolbar Features:

•  Toolbar integration with the new Yahoo! Bookmarks
•  Type-ahead bookmark suggestions from the toolbar search box
•  The ability to create and use new buttons, even when you aren’t signed in

And for Yahoo! Bookmarks:

•  Advanced search functionality
•  Thumbnails for quickly recognizing sites
•  Convenient drag-and-drop management
•  Organize bookmarks with folders and tags
•  Ability to save page content along with the URL
•  Editing abilities when saving
•  An end to the 1000 bookmark limit

If you have come to love video online, be sure to check out Tom Chi’s screencast describing the features in Yahoo Bookmarks. TechCrunch noted that Chi created the nifty backing music track for the demonstration.

(See if you can spot the unfortunate spelling error displayed in the My Folders section of the Bookmarks page shown in the screencast.)
