Twellow, the First Twitter Directory Adds Features

Twellow is expanding nicely into different areas of Twitter-related usefulness. Today a new feature was launched, which allows you to search among your own friends and followers.

If you are unfamiliar with Twellow, think about it as a yellow-pages service for finding people on Twitter.  You can search for things or browse the directory to find people who tweet about the topics you are interested in. With the TwellowHood feature, you can find Twitterers based on geographic location. Twellow is a Murdok service and part of the Murdok Network of Intenet B2B properties.

Matthew Daines“With the introduction of Twellow’s new Friends and Followers features you can now view your current ‘social graph’ of profiles that you are tracking via the familiar Twellow profile lists,” explains Twellow Lead Developer Matthew Daines on the Twellow Blog. “When logged in using Twellow’s Enhanced Login‘, the new Friends and Followers tabs will become active. These new features will list out those whom you follow, and those who are following you. You’ll also be able to quickly see if you are following each person and/or if they are following you by the following status icons.”

The feature is one I’ve been looking for from Twitter for a while myself. I’m often scrolling through pages of followers/followees looking for specific people. It’s kind of a pain.

Searching Followers on Twellow

“Being able to search within your followers or those you follow should make Twitter better for all users, especially those high-profile Twitter users,” Daines tells me. I couldn’t agree more.

On a related note, Twellow has also started including tabs for the recent features that have been added. You can now easily get to them from any page within Twellow. This includes Friends, Followers, TwellowHood and Twellow Pulse, as well as search, categories, and My Profile.
