While many people will argue over the replay of Ben Roethlisberger’s “touchdown” run, many more will want to replay the Super Bowl advertisements, and can choose from video on AOL, Yahoo or Google.
The day after Super Sunday, one NFL coaching fact remains intact. No coach has ever won a Super Bowl with two different teams. Sorry, Mike Holmgren.
But the victorious Steelers and the rueful Seahawks can do something today that they couldn’t do on Sunday – watch all the high-priced ads they were too busy to see during the game.
Yahoo Video called upon its partnership with iFilms to place ads online. Along with making all of the ads available for viewers long after Ike Taylor’s interception of Matt Hasselbeck, Yahoo invited Video Search visitors to look for clips of past Super Bowl news.
Google Video made it easier to find those commercials than Yahoo did, though. Google put up all of the ads on a dedicated page. Now that the game has been completed, users can visit Google’s Super Bowl ad page and play back all the commercials just by hitting a single button.
AOL used its Super Bowl ad-focused page to embed the ads and promote the upcoming new season of The Sopranos on HBO, which like AOL is part of Time Warner. Visitors can view them by quarter by hitting a button over the page’s video player. The company said it streamed over 5 million commercials during the game.
Also, AOL kept a running poll of the popular ads during the big game. Around 13 percent of the 77,000 voters made a goat a hero, by choosing Budweiser’s ‘Streaker’ ad their favorite of the various commercials displayed on Sunday night.
