Multi Level Masochism… MLM For Short!

Are You a Multi Level Masochist? That’s the question no one asks themselves.

It’s also the question that the 95% who never get very far in Network Marketing unknowingly answer with a resounding NO?

Do you do MLM — Multi Level Masochism?

Do you teach your downline MLM — Multi Level Masochism?

Are you surprised that you are not doing as well as you would like?

Are you surprised that most of the people you sponsor aren’t doing anything at all?

The fact is, there’s just a small percentage of people who will willingly go out and subject themselves to being knocked around by their friends and family in an effort to sponsor them into their business.

And all the motivational books, tapes, CD’s and lectures won’t budge the rest of them out of their “comfort zone.” At least not for long.

What is Multi Level Masochism?

It’s the “warm market” approach.

And if you’re someone who successfully recruits from your warm market it’s just possible that you are either…

– Insensitive to pain or just plain insensitive to others.

– Have a tremendous amount of positive influence over the people you know and just happen to know a lot of them. Are you a doctor?

– Know a better class of people than most of us do, which isn’t likely, since the so-called ‘classier’ people wouldn’t get it anyway. They’ll think they’re too good for it.

In fact, I submit, and it’s the point of this article, that most people are just not masochistic enough to take on their warm market for very long which is why they so quickly drift away from the business without so much as a so long, see ya.

Masochistic warm market prospecting has probably been taught to nearly every new distributor since Network Marketing’s inception, and countless distributors have bitten the dust as a result.

How many times have you told a new recruit to “make a list of 100 people you know” or “make a list of everyone you know?”

Has anyone ever said this to you?

Then did they send you out on your own or did they offer to help you “gang-bang ’em” in a three way call?

And how did you handle it among your volunteers?

Did you send them out on their own or did you offer to help them “gang-bang ’em” in a three way call?

Of course, at one time that’s all there was for most in MLM. Unless you were an insider who networked among professionals.

But times have changed. And even MLM is used less often than Network Marketing to describe what we do so maybe it’s time to stop the Multi Level Masochism and learn how to approach our various businesses very professionally, instead.
