More Twitter Services Emerge

You have Twellow as sort of a “Yellow Pages” for Twitter. Now today Robert Balousek has released Twintro, a new tool for finding “interesting” Twitterers.

From the sounds of it, you just get to read tweets from someone that Twintro deems interesting. Balousek describes it on his blog:

Today I launched my newest project called Twintro. It’s a service that helps you find new quality posters on Twitter. So far it has received some press so I’m very excited about it. I hope that people find it useful and suggest new features.

This is how it works:

   1. Follow Twintro on Twitter
   2. Every day Twintro retweets a different user’s tweets to you
   3. If you like that user, follow them!

So please try it out and if you have any suggestions let me know!

Balousek kicked off Twintro today with tweets from Nick Douglas whose former stomping ground Valleywag points to another new Twitter-related service – Twittad, which lets Twitter users sell ad space on their backgrounds. Twittad describes itself:

Twittad was formed to give Twitter users and advertisers the opportunity to meet for product placement & website promotion on a Twitter user profile. Our goal is to not fill Twitter with ugly & obnoxious advertisements. We give advertisers templates and ideas to help keep the integrity of Twitter background images.

Valleywag has this one filed under “Bad Ideas”. What do you think? Either way, with all of these Twitter-related services emerging, it’s a good thing Twitter is solving its downtime issues.
