Java Workforce Management Terminal

Share

Evolved from Control Module’s trademark modularity and reliability, Genus (named after the Greek term “genus,” meaning a new species) is the first workforce management terminal that offers a JAVA programming environment.

The Genus product line will offer multiple display and reader options, including color touch screen and superior fingerprint biometric technology. Connectivity options include Ethernet, 802.11b and modem support, all of which give the convenience of remote support and administration. Genus will debut at the HR Technology Conference and Exhibition, October 13-15, 2004, at McCormick Place in Chicago.

“Our customers have requested a more intuitive data collection tool, asking that it be easy-to-program, feature a larger information screen, and has the flexibility to support options, such as advanced biometrics,” said Jana A. Moak, CMI’s president and chief executive officer. “We invite show attendees to experience Genus for themselves and test the latest in biometric identification.”

Utilizing the large screen display of the Genus, individuals can make employee self-service inquiries and changes, including personnel information, vacation and sick leave balances, and 401k transactions. This ability to view and make schedule changes helps to increase human resource personnel productivity and reduces the burden on supervisory personnel.

Genus Features:

— Management Tools: Genus is easy to deploy and offers features and support for custom application development for time and attendance, workforce management, employee self-service, and access control applications.

— Support: JAVA programmable support gives the Genus cross-platform flexibility with extensive development tools.

— Integration: Genus’ integrated OEM Java Classes provide accessible configuration and data collection functionality for a wide range of optional data collection devices and user functionality, like persistent transaction storage.

— Accessibility Enhancements: Genus can be programmed to control access to multiple doors.

— Advanced Biometrics: CMI’s exclusive biometric technology accurately reads a wide range of fingerprints, while offering superior static protection in rugged, tamper-resistant housing.

Genus introduces a fingerprint biometric capability of 1:300-plus identification in less than one second. The CMI exclusive fingerprint reader technology uses “active capacitive measurement,” which permits superior reads even for a wide range of skin types and environmental conditions. Further, the patented design of this sensor includes a thick protective coating to allow for up to 16KV of static protection, over one million touches, and provides protection from direct impact, moisture and scratches.

The science of verifying an individual’s identity by comparing physical characteristics of his or her body with stored data, such as a fingerprint, biometrics authentication provides companies a trusted method for secure and reliable employee recognition. CMI has a solid track record of success with biometric technology at major corporations such as Continental Airlines and United Rental, making CMI the industry’s most proven, effective supplier of fingerprint ID system and supporting software.
