TicketMaster and the other three companies IAC plans to cut loose should fare just fine as independents, in IAC chairman Diller’s opinion. He’s not ready to put the Google partnership aside just yet.

They have inked a new five-year deal with Google to continue providing search advertising for Ask.com, IAC’s search engine.

It’s easy to see why Diller wants to keep Google popping up in the Ask SERPs. The deal has been valued at $3.5 billion over the five year span.

The recent moves by IAC represent a consolidation of their Internet strategy. The disparate companies that will be spun into separate publicly traded ones leave IAC with a variety of search and entertainment properties, like Match.com, CollegeHumor, and the Pronto shopping search engine.
