The nx6125 notebook PC will be released by Palo Alto-based HP under the Compaq brand name that it owns.

AMD’s contribution to the new hardware will be its Turion 64 mobile technology model ML-40 64-bit processor. The chipmaker has designed the ML-40 to be well suited to thin and light notebooks.
“AMD Turion 64 mobile technology is the only available processor offering both 64 bits and enhanced security for thin and light notebook PCs, which are preferred by many business professionals,” said Marty Seyer, corporate vice president and general manager, Microprocessor Solutions Sector, AMD.
HP has ramped up the introduction of new notebook models. Laptops have been steadily gaining in popularity among all computer users, and have been outselling desktop machines in many markets. HP has released 11 new laptop models in the past 140 days.
The nx6125 features a built-in biometric fingerprint sensor for more convenient secure authentication. Other tools included as part of HP’s ProtectTools security portfolio include an optional integrated smart card reader, and a credential manager that lets users have single sign-on access to various network resources.
