ERP to Meet Demand for Health Care Company

Intacct Corporation, the ERP On Demand solution for distributed enterprises and ISVs, and IBM, the world’s largest IT company, announced that Achieve Healthcare Technologies, the largest U.S. privately owned IT provider to the long-term care industry substantially increased its subscription of Intacct’s Web-based enterprise resource planning applications to meet growing customer demand.

Achieve has integrated Intacct ERP On Demand with its Matrix system to provide long-term care organizations the ability to centralize key business processes. Intacct ERP On Demand adds accounts payable, general ledger, payroll and order entry to the Achieve Matrix system, which includes robust clinical and business management functionalities, giving long-term care organizations a complete system for all clinical, financial and human resources needs.

In addition, Intacct allows Achieve’s customers to boost profitability by projecting cost and revenue on a per-patient-per-day basis. Intacct tailored this advanced feature — one in a complete range of industry-specific capabilities — for the healthcare, hospitality and other unit-based sectors.

Long-term care organizations also rely on Achieve Matrix to effectively manage critical business processes, including care plans, electronic health records and comprehensive event management to reduce litigation risks.

Intacct is the only ERP on-demand solution that enables companies to remotely manage centralized business processes across any number of entities, while permitting local managers to work with relevant numbers and reports.

“With Intacct, we can offer customers a comprehensive solution for sharing business processes across multiple facilities in real time,” said Rich Giddings, CEO of Achieve. “Moreover, patient privacy is one of the most critical issues facing the healthcare sector today. Intacct and IBM exceed the security requirements of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.”

IBM e-business hosting helps customers obtain computing as speedy, flexible and cost-efficient services. IBM e-business hosting services include security capabilities, computing capacity on demand and application services. Most services are sold on a usage basis.

“Companies are constantly searching for technology to better serve their clients,” said Scott Hebner, vice president of strategy and marketing, ISV & Developer Relations, IBM. “We are committed to providing Intacct and its customers with an IT infrastructure that increases performance, security capabilities and flexibility, while freeing up resources that can be deployed to sharpen the competitive edge.”

“Our latest agreement with Achieve demonstrates how Intacct is moving up the value chain, delivering on-demand ERP services to create new revenue streams for our customers,” said Robert J. Jurkowski, CEO of Intacct. “As the software-as-service market grows worldwide, Intacct and IBM will continue to deliver the only viable on-demand solution for distributed enterprises.”

As a graduate of IBM’s Application Enablement Program, Intacct has worked extensively with IBM to take advantage of the growing market opportunity for new application deployment models and deliver its software as a service. Through the program, IBM works with leading ISVs to assess, transform and deploy their software in on demand environments, such as Grid computing, IBM’s Universal Management Infrastructure (UMI) and Web Services. By adopting alternative software deployment methods, ISVs can meet customer demand for subscription-based and hosted applications while experiencing faster application deployment times, shorter sales cycles and increased market reach. Since its launch in 2002, IBM has signed more than 30 leading ISVs to the Application Enablement Program and will double that figure in 2004.
